This is a hands on, practical and immersive course suitable for those who use the internet to conduct covert investigations such as test purchase, online surveillance and other covert online investigations.
The subjects dealt with will enhance the effectiveness of any investigator conducting Internet investigations.
Delegates will grapple with several online exercises throughout the course with a final interactive exercise designed to test participants online against real people.
Delegates will also build personal confidence in this area of expertise and have an opportunity to identify how they will use new knowledge and skills in the working environment.
The course will be facilitated by two former police online undercover officers and trainers, an accomplished business psychologist and a former police senior investigating officer to provide the depth of knowledge and tradecraft required when operating in this challenging area of business.
The facilitators are current practitioners in their fields, ensuring delegates are provided with training based on recent and authentic operational experiences.
Sessions will be approached from an operational perspective, with psychological issues explored to ensure delegates can operate safely whilst maximising investigative opportunities.
This course will be delivered over 5 days.
Eligibility
Investigators are welcome from private and public sector, government organisations and law enforcement.
It is desirable, but not essential, that those attending should have some knowledge or experience of Internet investigation.
Participants should be computer literate, but no technical knowledge is required.
Dates and Venue
This course will be held at a venue in central Liverpool, between 25-29 November 2019.
Course times are 9am to 5pm, with a small amount of out of hours activity to add realism.
The venue is a private purpose built IT training facility, close to Liverpool Lime Street railway station, hotels and carparks.
Computers, software and equipment, Internet access and lunch is provided during the course. Delegates will each receive a certificate of attendance.
Course material is provided on an encrypted USB thumb drive for delegates to take away.
For quality purposes, this course is limited to 14 delegates, so early booking is recommended.
The cost of this course including lunch is £1700 + vat per delegate.
The cost of this course including breakfast, lunch, dinner and 5 nights hotel accommodation close to the venue is £2400 + vat per delegate
